 Washing & Maintenance Instructions for Light Blonde Colours including Balayage light colours

Step 1: When washing your hair, ensure you use a light/frequent use shampoo, Cinderella Hair’s Caviar & Red Algae Extract Shampoo is perfect, it is a light frequent wash shampoo, which also nourishes hair ensuring the natural hair and hair extensions are well maintained.

Step 2:  After washing, hold your hair extensions at the top with one hand and with the other hand squeeze out all of the excess water. The reason for this, is because water is very heavy and can stretch your hair extensions if left to dry naturally due to the fact the hair used to make them light in colour has been processed greatly, resulting in the hair becoming thinner and more brittle.

Step 3: Run a bristle hair brush or Cinderella Hair’s Natural Bristle Brush through your hair and hair extensions from the bottom up. When brushing, ensure you hold your hair extensions at the top with your other hand. Do this slowly and gently in sections.

Step 4: After brushing and, all excess water has been removed use a hair dryer on a low-medium heat setting until your natural hair and hair extensions are completely dry, also ensure that the hair extension bonds are completely dry. Leaving the bonds wet can result in hair shedding and the hair extensions can fall out from the bonds becoming soft.

Step 5: Please ensure your client uses heat styling tools to an absolute minimum, to prevent breakage of the hair extensions particularly at the hair ends. When using heat styling tools, hair and hair extensions must be completely dry to prevent breakage of the hair.

Step 6: Please make sure you give this information sheet to your client(s) after the application and take a little time to explain all to them.

When swimming with hair extensions or while on holiday with hair extensions, follow the above instructions at the point of leaving the water on each occasion. Alternatively wear a swimming cap to avoid your hair extensions and bonds getting wet.
